The newest member of the byrd flock is the distinctly different Gooney. Its defining feature is its unorthodox blade shape, which combines the functional elements of the sheepfoot, hawkbill, and our Reverse S patterns to yield a remarkably versatile cutting edge. Designed by Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser, its blade is full-flat ground from 9Cr14MoV stainless steel for exceptional edge geometry and low-friction cutting performance. The blade is supported by a stout back lock mechanism housed within a linerless handle featuring gray, peel-ply-textured G-10 scales.
