Fingerprints & photo
If Silencer Shop already has yours on file, you're good to go. If not, we can handle that for you. We can take them here and have them added to your Silencer Shop account.

Sign & Form 4
Once your item arrives you'll come in to certify the Form 4.

Pickup after Form 4 approval
We'll contact you once the ATF approves your form. You'll need to bring a valid photo ID. Then we'll complete the Form 4473 and you'll walk out with your new item.
Buy on our Silencer Shop dealer page. Kennebec Valley Firearms will already be selected. Choose your items and check out on Silencer Shop. Your new item will be sent to us then we'll start the NFA paperwork process. Once your NFA paperwork is approved, you'll be able to pick up your item.
We do not charge a transfer fee on Silencer Shop purchases.

As of 2026, the federal making/transfer tax is $0 for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs on many Form 1 and Form 4 filings. Machine guns and destructive devices generally still have a $200 federal tax. Those amounts can change.
Registration, fingerprints, photo, background check, and ATF approval still apply when the tax is $0.
NFA items that are legal under federal law may generally be possessed in Maine. Hunting with a suppressor is allowed in Maine without a separate hunting permit. Automatic firearms are not legal for hunting in Maine.
